Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Yobaki handles when you visit yobaki.com. It describes what the site does today, and it will be updated before that changes.

In short

  • You do not need an account to use Yobaki, and visitors cannot create one.
  • Yobaki shows no ads and runs no tracking scripts. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.
  • We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

What the site handles

Your IP address

The server uses your IP address to apply its rate limits and the limit on how many times one file can be downloaded in a day. It keeps the address only in memory, for at most 24 hours, and forgets it when it restarts. Apart from the sign-in records described below, the address is not written to our database or our logs.

Download clicks

When you follow a download link, the site records which game, patch, link, language and platform it was for, and when. The record holds nothing about you: no IP address, no browser details and no identifier.

Download reports

A report stores the reason you chose, the comment you may add and when it was sent. It does not record who sent it. Please do not put personal information in the comment.

Technical records

To keep the site working, the server records technical details of each request, such as the page asked for, your browser’s user-agent string, the response and how long it took, and sends them to our monitoring service. These records do not include your IP address, and the values in a page address’s query string are hidden.

Visits and page views

To count visits and page views, Cloudflare adds a small Cloudflare Web Analytics script to each page. When a page loads, the script sends Cloudflare the page’s address, the page you came from, your browser, operating system and type of device, and how quickly the page loaded; Cloudflare adds the country the request came from. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not identify you or follow you from site to site. We see only totals, such as how many pages were viewed in a day and from which countries.

Administrator sign-in

Only the site’s administrators can sign in. To protect their accounts, every sign-in attempt is recorded with the email address entered, the IP address and the browser’s user-agent string. Visitors have no reason to use the sign-in page.

Cookies and browser storage

Pages with a form, such as the download confirmation and the report form, set a security cookie that protects the form against forgery. It is strictly necessary, does not identify you and is deleted when you close your browser.

If you choose a light or dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.

If you choose a language in the language menu, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, and this browser opens the site in that language next time. It never leaves your device.

Yobaki sets no other cookies, and none for advertising or analytics.

Service providers

  • Cloudflare: all traffic to Yobaki passes through Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site. To do so it processes your IP address and the details of your requests, and it may set its own security cookies. Cloudflare’s privacy policy applies to that processing.
  • Cloudflare R2: game covers and screenshots are stored there and served from it.
  • Grafana Cloud: receives the technical records described above, in its European Union region.
  • File hosts: download links lead to websites run by third parties. Once you leave Yobaki, their own privacy policies apply.

Why we use it

We use this information only to run the site: to deliver its pages, to protect it from abuse and overload, to keep download links working, to count downloads per game and to count visits and page views. We do not build profiles of visitors.

How long it is kept

  • IP addresses used for rate limits and download limits: in memory only, for at most 24 hours.
  • Download clicks and reports: until we delete them. They hold nothing that identifies you, unless you put it in a report’s comment.
  • Technical records: for the limited period our monitoring provider keeps them. The server’s own logs are rotated and overwritten as they fill.
  • Visit and page-view figures: for the limited period Cloudflare Web Analytics keeps them.
  • Administrator sign-in records: until we delete them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Yobaki holds almost nothing that identifies a visitor, so there may be nothing to find, but you can always ask by email and we will answer.

Children

Yobaki is only for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly handle information about anyone younger. If you believe a minor has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever what the site does with information changes, and always before adding ads or any other analytics. The date at the top of this page shows the latest change.
